I have a young one now. Well its in a warm greenhouse and I will let it bulk up there first. Then I can always try some of its offspring outside.
Its good we can grow at least Musa basjoo well here...

P.S.
The longer and warmer your growingseason the easier you will get flowers as the plant will grow faster. So a zone 7 climate with sort cool summers versus a zone 7 climate with long hot humid...

I grow Musa basjoo here in what I would call a zone 7 climate. It can get -17 C here as a minimum. But normally we have much milder winters here, mostely just above zero as a minimum. So in good...

Here in the The Netherlands they are roothardy with good mulching. It can get -20 C here and...

Well in that small town Oak Park, if I had lived there I would make some sort of Potager du Roi! Well with vegetables you can make a very ornamental garden! Much nicer for the eye then a boring lawn....

Well better put lots of snow over it when you get it. t will insulate the rootstock. But best to mulch it thickly in November before the frost arrives!

Well I only have M. basjoo and M. sikkimensis, those 2 can overwinter outside with good protection. Saves a lot of work.

I had a look in my atlas, the Bramahaputra starts high up on the plateau of Tibet, streams east just south of Lhasa and then turns southward streaming down into India where it turns west...

Well if you live at the Dalmatian coast at 43 degrees latitude there is not much reason to complain about the weather I guess. Maybe a lack of rain, but to grow exotic stuff should be no big problem...
