I've done a bit of research, and the "true" plantains you find in the Caribbean are known as "French Horn" type. Cultivars Mbang Okon, Batard, and "3 vert". Anyone heard of these before or have these?

There are people in Thailand who'll ship, but they seem to have the "Florida" variegated as opposed to an actual aeae. Distinguished by the pink outline around the tip of the pstem in the former.

I had a similar issue once. Though it may sound like a stupid idea, I took a potato peeler to the corm. Just took off a small layer, then let it dry for a day and that seemed to work.

UPDATE: After briefly checking the soil, I've spotted a really long root trying to burrow itself deep into the pot! And even better, I think the pstem is slowly turning a shade of green! Fingers...

The seller has listed in the description of the nana that it's a Blue Java, but has then also put "Kluai Pisang Awak" and "Kluai Nam Wa Naun Jun", which I assume are different varieties altogether?
