Re: Dwarf fruiting varieties?

Hmm, stick to Super Dwarf Cavendish (aka Musa Tropicana) or just plain old Dwarf Cavendish. Get em on Ebay.

How do you heat your polytunnel? I'm gonna need to do exactly what you're doing since the plants are taking over the spare bedroom. What's your setup like?

Re: What variety would be the Caribbean plantain?

I've done a bit of research, and the "true" plantains you find in the Caribbean are known as "French Horn" type. Cultivars Mbang Okon, Batard, and "3 vert". Anyone heard of these before or have these?

What variety would be the Caribbean plantain?

I've found a lot of varieties that are Asian plantains, but what variety would be for plantains you'd find in the Caribbean? Jamaica, etc?

Re: What's the smallest piece of corm you've managed to grow into a full plant?

I have a monstrosity which consists of a tiny corm the size of a dice, with one long root attached. It's currently stuck in 100% perlite. How did you get yours to grow back?

What's the smallest piece of corm you've managed to grow into a full plant?

I'm curious to know if any of you have managed to get a tiny piece of corm to grow into a fully fledged plant? For example, like the side of a dice or even smaller?

Asking for a friend... Lol!

Self Watering Containers

Does anyone have an experience or success with using a larger self watering planter, such as Lechuza and so on? Were there any complications that arose from potting one in such a planter?

Re: The Search For A Genuine Ae-Ae

There are people in Thailand who'll ship, but they seem to have the "Florida" variegated as opposed to an actual aeae. Distinguished by the pink outline around the tip of the pstem in the former.

Re: Need help saving sad pup

I had a similar issue once. Though it may sound like a stupid idea, I took a potato peeler to the corm. Just took off a small layer, then let it dry for a day and that seemed to work.

Re: Yet another Blue Java identification

The seller has listed in the description of the nana that it's a Blue Java, but has then also put "Kluai Pisang Awak" and "Kluai Nam Wa Naun Jun", which I assume are different varieties altogether?
