My Cav bloomed this year also. Just hope it stays warm enough for harvesting here in SC.

I also read somewhere to reduce nitrogen content when you fertilize and stick with postash...

I searched my email to figure out when I bought this banana plant. It was January of 2011, so it has taken this Super Dwarf Cavendish 2-1/2 years to grow from pup to making fruit.

That's a super dwarf cavendish. They'll always stay rather tiny in size and for fruit, are pretty picky with temps and take a long time. I find those even way up here in the Pacific Northwest sold as...

You have plenty of summer left to cut them from the mother plant and get the root base stabilized before you'll have to bring them in for the winter... Or you can leave them until spring...

Congrats!! I'm so excited for you. I don't have any advice that you could really do at the moment, but because of my personal beliefs I really think in the future you should lean less on fertilizers...
