Here's a link to some huge ensete bananas in zone 4. This guy also had a windmill palm in the ground for 20+ yrs. I ordered some of the same bananas so I can start using this technique to keep them...

Moving to Naples Florida

Just wanted to let everyone know I am going to have an easier time growing bananas in Naples Floida than Utah. I'm moving for grad school and am going to enjoy the change in weather.

Kevin has built a simple frame out of 1x2 lumber and then attatched the styrofoam. Lights are kept on 24/7 and he has kept his trachy alive this way for 15 yrs. The bananas he has had for less...

I don't think that the bath water is going to be dirty enough to worry about bacteria. I don't think it would would be any worse than flushing the toilet in the same room as your tooth-brush.
