They plump up a lot, and they change from a dark red to a lighter red with some yellow at the flower end

I would just treat it like normal if its not in the way and it should be fine. Worst case is it will re grow from suckers in spring.

PR's bunches are almost enough to give a guy a complex lol. I have gotten mysore bunches almost that size, It took a lot of mulch and horse manure. Most bananas in south Fla take 4-6 months to ripen.
