![]() I'm very excited to post about this!
About a year ago my nearest town was almost certain to be covered by lava. 1000 people moved away, including my next door neighbors. Pele (the volcano goddess) spared our little town of Pahoa and only took out one unoccupied house. The great thing that came out of this is that my partner and I were able to purchase that dumpy little house next door, and turn it into something we're proud of! I'm posting here because it's completely banana themed, including the railing, outdoor shower, roof supports, decor, and custom furniture. This is pretty much all my partner's work, but of course he was inspired by the bananas growing all around it. Once fully landscaped there will be a trail into my main banana growing area. It gives the visitor an opportunity to see about 100 banana cultivars growing and a good chance to taste at least several that happen to ripen during one's stay. If you're ever headed to the Big Island please consider a visit in my rental. Please let me know you are a bananas.org member if making an inquiry. Anyway, the website below to check it out. One can book directly or via Ainbnb. Comments and questions welcome! BananaCottageHawaii.com Airbnb listing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by robguz24 : 02-06-2016 at 10:20 PM. |

![]() Rob, great job on the house! Looks really good! I have never been to Hawaii, but want to visit one day. When my wife and I celebrate our 25th in 6 years, it's a real possibility we will celebrate in Hawaii and possibly at the Musa Mansion. I love it!

![]() Yep, he's a contractor. He did all that and all the wood furniture, design, decor, made the curtains, some of the pillows. Even the dining table and outdoor shower concrete pad have a banana leaf design.
