Brussel's sprouts to go into one of the raised beds shortly. Should be harvesting around Thanksgiving or so.

5 Australian fern trees materialized from nowhere growing with my pineapples in a pot. Removed them this weekend and gave them their own pots.
Tons of cherimoya sprouts this past month and a few *now mystery* annonas whose labels I had discarded because I had given up on them back in April/May. I guess it's safe to say that annonas and many tropicals do not sprout from seed here until August in my specific area and possibly just my microclimate. Also discovered pygmy date palms sprouting in an elevated planter box that sits below the palms on a lower deck. One of my manzano bananas has sprouted a heart/inflo .... And mother nature has given me tons of baby grasshoppers (oi vey!) I posted a few photos in my gallery but don't know how to link them to this specific post. Anyhow ... I hope everyone has had a fun and successful summer gardening and experimenting! |
