Tony ---- This year I plant my first blueberries. Got 6 nice plants from TruBlue here in Fla. Three low chill varieties -- Emerald, Windsor and Primadonna. Repotted and ferted, to get some size, and I picked off all the fruit -- they came loaded. Can't wait!

The fruiting breeding program at U. Florida is outstanding, and they are most known for their Blueberries. At the top of the list is Sharp's Blue, bred by Ralph Sharp. You would be remiss not to plant one!

The mulberries are starting to ripen, so we picked a few yesterday:

They were very sweet and delicious! Hard to beat the birds from the ripe ones though,

A babaco. The first one I have ever harvested or tasted. I thought it was delicious. To me, it tasted nothing like a papaya, not even remotely, despite being a close relative. Quite tart, aromatic, and refreshing, with essentially white flesh. I thought the flavor was vaguely reminiscent of starfruit. If you are really into sweet fruit with no acidity, this is not the fruit for you!

A grocery bag of collards, two cups of blueberries and 1/2 bushel of green beans. I have jalapeno ready but haven't picked yet. Also some green bell peppers.

Green beans are going nuts! We have picked at least a bushel and we should get at least two more pickings. My pink-eyed purple hull peas are almost ready and the butter beans won't be far behind. My tomatos are looking good and some are starting to blush. I need some ideas on what to do with all the jalapenos I have. If this keeps up I'll never be able to pick it all!

My bluelake pole beans are going nuts also. Ran three 7 ft pole trellises this year and the arms have had a workout by the time pickings finished. Have to drape the spillover mass of vines on top of my hat to see to pick.

Big yields of eggplant as well. Can't wait for the artichokes to pop.

Bean pickin' in the shade--

Well the green beans continue to amaze me. We picked another 1/2 bushel today and only picked two of the four rows.
