Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?
Thanks for the advice Olafhenny,
I got the black lace. At first glance in Homebase I thought it was a Maple till I saw the flowers on the label. It was in a small pot but I have moved it up one complete with grit it came with. Are they hardy. What zone am I in -- in Lancashire, never did take much notice of that till I got my palms. Thanks again Olafhenny The Maples have disapointed me this year, completely defoliated from something, even DIY Maples are the same..brown, leaf eaten off...well, the red part and leaving behind a yellow backing.

Water lilies
Water lilies.
Well, these are not exactly (all) in “my garden”. My wife and I only own legally a narrow strip of this pond. However that did not keep me from planting all these water lilies and taking a bit of ownership pride in them. View of a portion of the lily pad from our patio.[

Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?
While this hasn't bloomed yet this year, I want to tell you about Salvia coccinea 'Coral Nymph'. I bought a plant of this about 4 years ago. It was in a planter and was a beautiful plant. The following year I had volunteers of this come up in another planter (both on the same patio), and in a flower bed 20 yards away!! For the last 2 years it comes up in my patio literally; it grows from an expansion crack. Now it's coming up again! This plant is supposed to be rated zone 8 as a perennial, but as far as I'm concerned it's one tough little focker!
I'll post a pic when it flowers.

Hi Tony, this is a beautiful flower. I cannot imagine, that it does not have a name. Or is that a secret??? But thanks for the post anyway. Olaf

Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?
It is a Passion flower. I've posted the variety in passiflora thread. I could be wrong on the ID,but a passion vine expert is on his way over right now so I should know for sure which one it is today.

Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?
Thank you Tony, I looked up the Passiflora Alata and found, that it unfortunately requires too much winter warmth for my Zone 6 climate
