Unidentified Brugmansia, but I think I have it narrowed down to Jamaica Yellow, I bought it at six feet for 6 dollars. It smells very strongly of Lemons, and the whole greenhouse is full of the fragrance. You dont usually find anything like this out here in the sticks of Oklahoma, and I was lucky to buy it.

Those are beautiful! I have no desire to grow more plants which produce fruit I dislike but the flowers are spectacular. Hoping they're not all boys....

I'll bet you'd like the fruit of American Beauty grown in your yard.

The only spot I have all day sun is possibly by my mailbox. My lot runs east to west and I have big trees in front and back. Up north I'd never try to garden with that much shade but here lemons, bananas, etc. seem pretty happy with 3 hours of late morning/early afternoon direct sunlight out back. It's going to take me a least a year to adapt to this "2 season" climate.

In my climate, dragon fruit prefers morning sun and afternoon shade.

See? I haven't a clue how to grow anything in this new frontier! I have potatoes in my west "shade" bed (maybe 2 hours of dappled light). They're happily spudding along even though it's dry and I don't have a hose to reach to the front. (I'm still trying to figure out why there's a joint compound bucket buried in that bed with pipes in it just beneath what I think is the broken faucet. Someone said it might be the shut off valve but the water company told me you shut it off at the meter at the street if you need to do work. Up north your shutoff is inside just past the inside meter--water company has a shut off at the street to handle deadbeats.)

So as to not further derail this thread, I'm not prepared to grow any dragon fruit. But the flowers are really gorgeous.

One of my datura planters I just made this year.
Thanks for hooking me up sandy I love them them.
Double purple datura, light purple petunia, black magic petunia, and some creeping Jenny.
Only one small portion of black magic petunia I had left over.

got this one from sandy. She said she doesn't know the name of it it's just a NOID with peach flowers. The big one she had in the greenhouse had more orangish color flowers this one looks more yellow though.
I have Fleming island Rachel which isn't close to blooming I am still waiting for it to Y and I just ordered 2 nice variegated ones
1 maya and 1 snowbank.

My Grimal is still small. Growing it out fast now in a Jackpot. Faster than in ground. Got it from Flying Fox Fruits nursery in Orlando area.

They mainly deal in Myrciaria/Plinia, Eugenia, Annona, Garcinia, Pouteria.

Also in Chupaticaba for select customers!! www.FlyingFoxFruits.com

BTW folks --- presently, it is now very likely, due to input from Brazil, that -----the variety called "Grimal" in the USA, is most likely a variety called "Peluda-de-alagoas"...and if not this variety, then some other similar variety from the North East of Brazil...that doesn't have a botanical name.

Still a great fruit for those who like to eat right off the trunk.
