I pull these weed's out of the gardens and yard every year, didn't think about it much.
This year pulled some, the ground was soft from rain and they came out with the seed. Now I know what they are.

It's a Walnut, there's a old Walnut Tree at the end of the block. The Squirrel's bury them everywhere.

Black walnuts. We have the same issue here, except with pecans. They're getting to be a pest.
Good thing you've been pulling them out. Juglans contain a poison that is detrimental to a lot of garden plants and pretty much deadly to everything in the Nightshade family, like tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers and squash... ad infinitum.

When I was kid we had black walnut trees popping up everywhere thanks to the squirrels. The little buggars bury them all over, and sometimes forget about their stash.
