Default Growing lychees in containers?

Does anyone have any experience growing lychees in containers? I picked up a young mauritius lychee recently and am curious as to whether anybody has successfully fruited one in a container. I am keeping it in my greenhouse which i successfully grow citrus in for the winter months and will put it outside during the warmer months.. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have walked down rows of lychees some with fruit in Palm City Florida.
The wholesale nursery was Botanics Wholesale Nursery.
All trees were six footers and growing in Jackpots with drip irrigation along with other varieties .
Pots seemed to be fifteen gallon size.
I even tasted some.
It did not seem to me that anything special was being done to them.
They also had some of the most awesome specialty palms I have ever seen.
They even had a dog with a peace sign shaved on its ass.

I might add.......this was the first time I had eaten lychees, and I have eaten them ever since.

I think pretty much any plant can be grown in a container including a Giant Redwood

Thanks for the info guys. Its good to know that its definitely possible to get fruit. I also found some more info online and pictures which showed fruit on small container trees. I tried lychees for the first time a few months ago and instantly became hooked, so now i have my own tree . Good luck with the rambutans, I have a seedling which I sprouted a few months ago but it seems to be struggling currently

I got these from my potted Hak Ip a few months ago (only 6). Got the tree probably year or so back, it is about 6' tall now.

Also have a Sweetheart in a container, about the same size. Had flowers on it but no fruit yet.

Wow those look really nice! My tree is only about 3ft tall right and not very branching but it has been growing strong. Do you know how big they have to be before they start to flower?

Air-layered plants will probably flower sooner than a seed grown.
Both mine are air-layers, both flowered first time this last spring at about 5 foot tall.
