Bananas For Containers
OK who can help me out here? I am trying to find out which are the fastest and hardiest fruiting nanas to grow in containers? I bought a SDC only to find out that they rarely fruit in containers (so sad) and usually used as ornament plants indoors.

Re: Bananas For Containers
Its not so much that they can't fruit in a very large container, its that they need constant warm temps. to fruit. Heat/humidity and lots of it. water to.

Re: Bananas For Containers
I don't know about hardiness, but the Logee's Ladyfinger fruited at about 9/10 mo. in a 15 gal. container.

Re: Bananas For Containers
When you say fruiting do you mean edible fruit? Because all bananas fruit. If you don't mean edible, then Musa mannii is a great small ornamental variety for a container.
