![]() Thanks Greg. They have been the same size for over a month. I feed mine every 2 weeks also and foliar feed every week. Maybe its the heat that is slowing them down. I hope they take off soon because I want them to be several feet tall by the end of the year. They are producing baby plants so I guess I would be just as happy with a clump of them

![]() I had a clump of tubers almost a foot long that I planted this year of C. musifolia and only had 3 plants surface. They are growing fine, but I expected a grove of them!

![]() Down below I have shown the "full sun" section of that 5m long stretch between patio and the
neighbour's fence. I thought, that I might as well show the deep shadow part of the strip, even though it does not include a canna, which, of course, would not survive without the sun: The plants are from left: A Hosta Guacamole, a Cimicifuga and a Ligularia Przewalskii. The latter two have been "raided" by cutting off rhizomes which I transplanted elsewhere. In the transition between the two sections there is a Goat's Beard and a Hosta Krossa Regal, which I selected, because it is supposedly (one of) the tallest hosta(s). It is now in its second year and all of 8" high. I have two more in pots in the shady part my "tropical" section and they are doing just as miserably. Entirely different environments, other Hostas thriving in both sections, but the one which should be the biggest turned out to be the tiniest. - Go figure!

The Virus symptoms are... - Bad growth - Unusual white and or yellow streaks in the leaves (on canna cultivators where white strikes shouldnt be) - Flowering at a short height (and then eventually no flowers). Some have a minor virus and grow out of it, but once the virus effects the cannas growth, there isnt much saving it.

![]() Greg- the top one looks like it could be Cleopatra. Are the leaves all green, or do you have any multicolor? The blooms may also show a large red/orange blotch (sic) in addition to the speckles. Try showing us the leaves in addition to the blooms; it would help. Take care.

![]() i wondered if they would get as big as they usually do.. this is my 4th yr with them.. started with 3 bunches of them.. got them from brian williams.. great guy btw !!!... by sept the biggest corms get over 10' and flower.. yea..even here in utah..they flower.. ![]() now i have ..over 20 clumps of them.. didnt think there were that many.. but watering today..counted.. wow.. u know what that means.. LOL when oct comes around.. i have to pull all of them out.. sigh... LOL this yr i did plant them later than i usually do.. but.. they sure are growing fast.. so.. hope they do get huge again this yr!!!! i feed them my fertilize mix.. my own manure tea (rabbit manure & bat guano)..with banana fuel and mix of kelp/fulvic/humic acid powder.. all the plants seem to respond to it well.. i feed every week..but i use a weak solution ..so no burning..and good growth.. got to get my camera out there.. anyone else take pics to use as reference for future yrs on plant growth, etc??? |

![]() I'm new to Canna's. Have two outside in pots, and one in the ground.
Can Canna's be overwintered in the ground in my zone 6ish? And as far as the ones in the pots, are they like Banana's where I can bring them in, and give them minimal water over the winter? Scott/Omaha |
