Hvala Ante.
Your phal will bloom in mid autumn if you give him enough fetilizer and plenty of indirect light.

Aerides houlletiana x sib

In this pic only half the buds are open. It was absolutely stunning when they all opened.
And the smell is the most delicious thing you have ever smelled in your life.

I'm trying to upload a power point presentation of the 2009 Taiwan orchid show but i think that format isn't excepted so all try and change that so you all can see it was spectacular this year

Also thees are not Orchids but i thought the Brussels begonia display was nice so here are some pictures of that

My mind is trying to convince me to move to a more temperate climate or buy a bigger house, "What To Do, What To Do" I guess there are worse addictions, now I just have to convince myself when winter comes and all must be moved indoors. That is one beautiful orchid Mediahound!!!!!!

Cool Ante, but where will you sleep in like 1 year? Those plants and flowers will soon take over your place, they won't stay small like this forever. Also beware, orchid pollen can be dangerous for allergic people.

Jack, I clicked on the pic in your gallery to make it bigger, & under the pic are codes/links so I copied the 2nd one & I'll paste it here now to see what happens. One of the 3 should show the pic... her goes:

I don't have a gallery here- I keep mine in photobucket.
That's a beauty BTW. Almost looks like shiny plastic!
WOOHOO, it worked!

it's really nice to see and hear about every ones Phials doing so well i my self have 5 plants all in various stages of bloom

by the way Patty thats a lovely color i don't have any quite that shade of Pink

i Have a particularly lovely Purple one thats sending up a new stalk now it already has an old one thats also has buds swelling on it so this will be my first phial to have a double spike I'm told this is rare any one ever have that happen before

Ps i thought i would add that if your Phailnopsis arnt bloomin the best way to force them is in the fall when the night time temps are at 60 deg put them in a small bathroom open the window at night and close it in the morning do this for three weeks and i garinty they will throw a bloom spike
they need 60 at night and 80 in the day so if this bath gets sun it will be warm enough be sure not to exspose the plants to any direct sun light they only take 1500 cd light which is vary low full sunn can be 9000cd and higher

Yes Pauly, it is rare to have 2 stems at same time. That pic is Jack Hagenaars pic that I posted here for him. Mine is a light purple w/ tiny specks on lower petals. It has been in a west facing window all winter & seems to like it there.
A little cold can shock a lot of plants to bloom. I let the sunroom get cold - like 40's back in Nov, & 5 of my citrus blossomed & now have baby fruits
