![]() Well I'd have the water tested before used it. Just because its called something doesn't mean it is such.. Kinda like those bottles of water that are names such but is only processed filtered water. Drop it off @ your local AG center to see how it measures up :^)

![]() The best water I've found is poopy, fish water!! If you have an aquarium don't pour the water down the drain when you clean it, give it to the plants!

![]() This is what we get from poopy fish water. It's an end of the season photo but it's hydroponics with fish thrown in. (aquaponics) Self sustaining, flood and drain connected to a tank of fish that fertilize the plants. It's my husbands toy and I sneak out with a bucket now and then to give my nanas some of the water. Your plants will love your fish water!

![]() When I partially drain my pond, I always pump it into the garden & plants. When I had angel fish, I scooped out aquarium water all the time for the house plants. Fish poop is the best! So are buried dead fish ( in the garden - not potted plants).

![]() Artesian wells are drilled into a vein of water that is under enough pressure that it will come to the surface without using a pump. A spring is just about the same principle, except that the Artesian well is drilled and the spring occurs naturally. The words Artesian and spring refer to the way the water comes out of the ground, (without a pump) not the quality of the water. I suppose there can be good quality spring water in some areas, and poor quality in others. When the water is tested, it's for pH, and things like metals and minerals, etc. (calcium, iron, salt, etc.,etc.) I doubt you'll find chlorine in an Artesian well, unless it was drilled into a city water pipe.
Algae are little tiny plants, so if you water with algae water it's, basically, the same as watering with compost tea, only the plants are tiny rather than the leaves and weeds put in regular compost. |

![]() Robby - The water from that spring is probably good, but I question whether it is worth the trip. Unless your local water is bad and/or you can bring back a very large quantity (like a tank truck full) of the water, I can't see that it's practical. We have a spring like that, about 5 miles from here and I, occasionally, bring back about 10 gallons, for drinking, but it's only if I'm in the area for something else, not a separate trip.
