Default Pups

Hello, how many pups should be allowed to keep when growing in a large pot. Im growing in 65g fabric pots. Shooting out a leaf every 5-7 days now. 3 of them that i have in these pots now have pups. Dwarf Brazilian has 2, blue java just shot one up and veranda( whatever this actually is, havent seen any info, just bought it on fastgrowingtrees.com) has 3. My goal is fruit, i know ground is better, but unfortunately all i have is concrete. How many pups should i limit them to. Stem on all 3 mother plants are about 4 ft.

Joy Re: Pups

Hi there,

This is our first purchase of two banana plants. I put them in big wine barrels and they are growing well...however we now have at least 4 to 5 “pups” per pot with their mothers. I tried to transplant one pup to another big pot like the mothers are in....the leaves are droopy, is it going to survive? Also, the other “pups” should I remove them?? learning a lot with these neat plants

Pups take some time to recover after transplanting.
Keep in mind that most of the energy they were getting was from the mother plant. It's also not uncommon for some or all of the older leaves on it to die off before it starts growing again.
