I have a 15 gallon container that had tomatoes growing in it and it clearly has RKN in the roots. Over the past months I have placed many worms that needed a home into that container. I would like to sift out the roots and cook the soil in a solar tent that will reach 140F+ in a few hours. I don't know what to do with the worms that I am sure will be there when I dump it out. There was a second container a few feet away that also had RKN. About 10 years ago some in ground tomatoes in that spot went up in flames over the course of a few days but I did not think about RKN at that time. I cut the plants down and never dug into the soil to seek clues. I am buying many plastic trays to keep the containers off the ground to prevent further problems. I don't want to kill the worms if I don't have to.
Thanks for any ideas to help |

Are you sure you have them. My old place was loaded with them and they never bothered them in pots ever. They are not visible by the naked eye. Only the root galls

There are root galls everywhere on what little I have exposed so far. This container has been in that spot for several months maybe a year and I am sure the roots are down into the ground. If I can get a lazy youngin over here to help I'll try to post a photo.
