![]() Hey all - I am going to be separating some pups from my basjoo this spring and I just wanted some input on timing.
I want to separate the pups in the foreground (middleish and right) of the first pic but I would like some expert input on when it is best/OK to do it. Is it OK do do it now or is it better to wait until more leaves have been thrown and the root system has recovered more completely from over wintering? The small pup on the right of the above pic is actually 2 pups (below) which I will likely separate as one for now and then again maybe later when they have recovered from the first split Thank you!!

![]() I would wait until it has warmed up in your area and the main stem is growing strong. If you do it while the plant is still recovering from winter rot might set in.

I cut and removed one 2-3 weeks ago. I think its all but dead. I cut 2 others at the same time, but left them in the pot to grow their own roots for a week before removing. Those 2 look like they are doing well. |

Sounds like a reasonable approach.
