![]() Hello, apologies for formatting or any other issues as this is my first time here. I’ve had my Ice cream banana/ blue Java for about three months now, and it’s about 3 feet tall, excluding the leaf it is currently pushing out. The most recent leaf it pushed out is really messed up, brown splotches and streaking, and small patches of dead, brown leaf. I can already see some issues on the new leaf that’s being pushed out as well. I’m not sure of what is wrong, as this is my first banana plant. The plant is being kept indoors under a grow light system in a 20 gallon pot with fox farms ocean blend soil. I plan on moving it outside soon, but I would like to fix the issue first.
Here’s a link to a Reddit post I made with images of the plant https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.red...a_whats_wrong/ |

![]() Hi.. I would assume (without seeing the entire plant) that perhaps a 20 gal pot is too large for that plant. Bigger is not always better when it comes to growing inn pots.. especially indoors. Larger pots retain too much moisture resulting in constant wet feet for the plant. Being that its indoors it likely doesnt need as much moisture so perhaps back off your watering, and mist the plant instead. It needs humidity and indoor is usually dry. Once its outdoors it will likely sort itself out. When you put it outside do not go straight to direct sunlight.. introduce it to bright light/shade, then dappled sunlight etc.. good luck and keep us updated
