Default First Banana Blue Java or not?

It is suppose to be a blue java. It bloomed at 12 months here in zone 8b. The blooming height is 11-12 feet. The leafs have a red edge with a red tent to the leaf stem.

Thanks for the help. In the morning I will see if I can get a good stem picture.

Even if it is a Namwah, I wanted to try one of those anyway.

Hi Randy,
here is an actual Blue Java/Ice cream Banana Bunch fruiting and maturing in California. Your Fruit is distinctively different. The fruit on yours is not a Blue Java for sure. I'm thinking a Tall Namwah, but I hear the fruit taste is great. Let us know when it matures. Congrats!

Here is the fruit stem picture. It seems to confirm the Namwah identification.

From the other post i don't think I will disappointed at all in the Namwah fruit.

Thanks for all the help in identifying my banana plant.

After tasting the bananas I am beginning to wonder if this is an Manzano or Apple banana. They taste best when they start browning and the skin is paper thin. When slightly green they have a bit of a tart apple flavor. When in the brown yellow phase it is very sweet.

Do y'all still think it is a Namwah?

Yes I think all slightly green bananas will be tart and namwah is very sweet when ripe.
