Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Default Ensete Glaucum. :)

Ensete Glaucum, my 1 success story!

It all started summer of 2019. i acquired 10 seeds, now seeds of all types are hit and miss for me but i knew the only way to get this banana was to grow it from seed. this is what i did, soaked seeds for 10 days changing water daily, added a tiny drop of super thrive. to the water. Then I planted put them in peat moss, kept them in the shade and watered daily. 3 sprouted, yay for me, happy dance over here. Well as many of us has experienced before. the seedlings grew to about 3 inches and for what ever reason 2 died. i had one little seedling left and i will admit it looked pitiful but i had faith. Fast forward to fall, Ensete Glaucum was now about 8 inches tall, she along with many other pups were over wintered in the greenhouse. Fast forward to April 2020 al pups removed from greenhouse, here is my Little Ensete Glacum holding its own maybe another inch in growth. Well in June i decide to stop babying it and i found a place in the garden to plant all 8 inches of her. Though it was a big mistake, all the leaves shriveled up and died but then something magical happened, the next week she pushed 1 new leaf, i was so happy. Now as of today she is still quite small but is 1.5ft and going strong!

So you ask yourself are seeds worth your time, i think so, after all their just seeds right?
here is my ratio. 10 seeds =3 seedlings = 1 Ensete Glaucun=Success!!!!!
