I have just had my first snow bananan/Ensete glaucum seed come through and i have done alot of reading on the internet about this type of banana, but has anyone actually grown one as there is nothing like first hand experience. I would llike to now what is best for this type of banana. Appartently it is also know as Musa nepalensis or Ensete giganteum, or Ensete wilsonii. Thank you for any help you maybe able to offer. Mark

Mark,
I got one fromAmulree last year and managed to get it through the winter fine. This year I planted it out and so far it hasn't grown aswell. This might be down to the lower temps this year,or maybe it just prefered being in a pot? At the moment I'm considering lifting it and potting it back up.So any advice you receive I'll be glad to hear too. All the best Steve |

I have a couple from seed that I keep fairly small by restricting the pot size. They came thru the winter in my polytunnel ok.
