Default Banana stump sprout.

I cut of several banana trees and there is a new plant growing out of the center of the stump. I want to move and plant the new growth. How do I remove from the stump and plant. Thanks.

If it's growing out of the middle , dig up the whole corm and replant. If there are starts coming off of the sides of the corm you can cut them off if they are large enough and plant them else where.

My neighbor had the same issue. She had about a 12 foot plant growing too close to her roof and she hacked it with about 2 feet of the stem remaining. Within days it had already grown quite a bit. No corm no banana plant from what I know.

There are some great banana videos on Youtube .
Most are pretty detailed and can illustrate how to divide your plant.
Pick and choose what can work for you.
