Question William's hybrid

OK guys i just got a Williams hybrid about 3 days ago i potted it up in a rather large commercial pot but i hoping that the size is OK i live in zone 9 but I'm planing on over wintering the plant in doors if it will fit in the one and only room i have with any sun then putting it out in the ground in the fallowing spring so it can relay fruit my question is I'm trying to do what the grower told me so far iv only exposed it to a couple of hr of morning sun but its burned slightly just from that short amount and I'm sorta worryed about how to get it use to the sun Las Vegas has really intense sun do u think its going to be OK and how long souled i keep protecting it the grower said 2 to 3 days but it doesn't seam that hardy to me its been looking wilted most of the time i watered it really good when i planted it and haven't watered it sins but the soil is still very damp when souled i water it agen? also i used about 50 native soil which is mostly sand and amended that with Dr O gold dust potting mulch which has a lot of sulfur in it to ajust the PH ares being very salty and advise it has a new leaf on it but its very pale and not really unfurling at the rapid pace iv been told that bananas should be growing i haven't fertilized it at all but the grower sent me a food pelt and told me to put it 5" away from the plant so i did any way I'm going on now so all stop and let u all talk me down heheh thanks for any advice u all would like to give paul

Default Re: William's hybrid

I'm in zone 9 and had a guy give me several banana plants last year that he said were Williams. I put them in the ground and I can tell you that they are very beautiful, full and hardy. We had a hard winter here for Coastal Alabama and I have one about 8 ft. tall pushing out its third leaf. Good luck on your Williams, I really love mine. Hope this helps.
