![]() I'm curious to know if any of you have managed to get a tiny piece of corm to grow into a fully fledged plant? For example, like the side of a dice or even smaller?
Asking for a friend... Lol!

![]() I had a Pisang Ceylon tissue culture die back to a piece the size of a toothpick, with just a touch of green on top.
Came back and turned into a great 4ft plant in 4 months. |

![]() Actually yes. I grew a tall namwa from a little piece of corm, about as big a golf ball I think? That was last December. NOW is is roughly 8, 9 foot pstem. It takes longer when they have a small corn though. I cut down the small sucker too about an inch, shaved the corm down, and planted it in the weeds.

![]() I have a monstrosity which consists of a tiny corm the size of a dice, with one long root attached. It's currently stuck in 100% perlite. How did you get yours to grow back?

![]() Honestly I totally ignored it. It was in my pop up winter greenhouse along with my other pups and TCs and I had just left it for dead.
It got inadvertently watered because I just didn’t move it out of the way and after 3-4 weeks it popped out A pin sized leaf. I put my starters in 50% pearlite/50% mushroom compost. If it is cool I put my plants on a seed heater mat to keep the roots at 80-85F, this can dramatically increase root growth. I tried the sand thing but after 1-2 days it starts smelling like rot and decay so I never did that again. |

![]() My Dwarf Namwa is 4ft tall and on the ground now and I got it as a small Tissue Culture plant 4 months ago. It had nearly no visible corm when I first potted it.
It took 4 months to get 4ft tall and this is my fastest growing TC plant, all the rest are still only 1-2ft at the most. Comparatively, I put 3 full medium size corms on the ground and they're already shooting out like a ROCKET in just mere days. The smaller the corm the much harder and slower they are to grow but once they start getting bigger they gain a lot more momentum. I have seen pictures extremely tiny pieces of corm grown in perfect laboratory conditions.
