Poor Mahoi. Cut down in the prime of her life. Have you ever gotten a double out of that banana mat (assuming you have one)?

I haven't. Not sure what the problem was, but if it doesn't do well with little effort, it's got to go! I really like Rambutan though. The related lychee and longan I have planted nearby and they both always look great.

You could try showing it to Oscar at Fruitlovers. I would be interested to see what he says. This year I will be using copper on my mangos and the avo. Things are getting to big to fool around and lose something to disease.

Just guessing but I think it's Elephant Ears/taro. The roots are edible. You can grow them up north but they are frost/freeze sensitive so you have to treat them like dahlias or glads and bring them in each fall. Here in FL they can be invasive.

I think Winter killed all three big Goldfinger Stems.. The Last one looks nice in the center but surrounded by mush.. I know when I trim it down I will find a flower (3) that just wasn't meant to be, there is always next year.. :^)

I know it's a direct correlation to climate, but I swear you guys intentionally murder more bananas than I will ever grow!

The Dwarf Reds are tough for me, too. That combination of being slow and sensitive to cold makes it hard to get good fruit from them in my climate. Either they fruit after most of the leaves have been damaged over winter, so they have little in the way of solar panels to produce carbohydrates to fill the fruit, or they fruit around now, and then the bunch hangs over winter, which doesn't work out well. But they are pretty plants.
