Hiya Is there any difference between a Kokopo and a Patupi?

Is there any difference between a Kokopo and a Patupi banana plant? I mean since I already have a Patupi do you need to buy a Kokopo?

So, how is your Patupi doing? (I'm assuming that you are growing it in a pot since you are in 6A.) I had a Patupi in the ground in 9B and it didn't do much. Maybe it was a bad location, dunno.

Yeah my Patupi did pretty well over the summer last year! I was quite impressed at the growth! However, since I had to bring it in for the winter it kind of went into some sort of hibernation! I am hoping now that it’s outside in the heat and sunshine it’ll start growing again! Oh and believe it or not I have the Patupi in the ground in summer and then put it in a pot to store for winter in my cellar! Thanks so much for the kind message! Hope your Patupi does well this year!

Sadly I think I lost my Patupi between moving and the freeze. I was wondering if it was worth replacing. It never fruited for me 8A or 9B.

In Reply to your Post Is there any difference between a Kokopo and a Patupi?:
No difference, the only difference is there is a short cycle plant that will produce fruit at 2-3feet and long cycle tall at 6-8feet. I bought th 2 plants both short cycle and they gave me fruit at the same time and both are the same

"Short cycle" doesn't refer to the height of the pseudostem but rather the time from flowering to harvest. All Patupis are short cycle, and they don't fruit at 2-3 feet either. They tend to be 7-9 feet tall with a cycle time of around 60 days, depending on multiple different factors.
