Question Seeking legendary banana grower

Doug Richardson used to grow and sell exotic bananas in Conchita, and then in Carpinteria, California. Is he still active? Where can I find and buy his bananas nowadays?

(New member, first post.)

Thanks!

Last saw him in about 2005. He was a professor at Santa Barbara City College. Did not see him listed as faculty more recently. The bananas had gone to an estate in the Santa Barbara hills. His wife had a coffee shop/cafe in what used to Santa's Village a little south of Santa Barbara. She sold fruit and plants from that business. He was well known for not responding to e-mail or phone messages, but quite interesting to listen to in a seminar.
