Exclamation Reviving a dying Blue Java

Hi all,

New member here!
I inherited this blue java banana plant, which is clearly not doing too well right now. My initial thoughts are this plant has probably been over watered, put in a pot too big/not leveled, and it doesn't look like it drains too well.

Hardiness Zones here is 10b, and unfortunately, most of my indoor windows are north facing. I am thinking about repotting this guy in a smaller pot and placing it directly under a grow light indoors.

If anyone has any tips or advice how I MIGHT be able to save this, I would appreciate it.

oh dear, that doesn't look too healthy. it looks leggy and weak. is that a pup at the bottom? if so I suggest cutting it back and it should regrow. with soil give the best soil possible eg rich and well draining. water well if hot outside and maybe put it in the ground if warm enough. i wouldn't fertilize until it gets a bit stronger tho. but if it's pupping i wouldn't worry too much. you can always divide the pup and start again. yes defo repot also. make sure it had drainage holes but id go for a good size. i wouldn't go for a small one as blue java root fast!
