Default Plant arrangement

I'm preparing a new banana patch that will run from North to South along a standard 6' privacy fence. I want to plant from tallest to shortest starting from the furthest N point and run S in order to maximize the southern exposure to all plants.

The following is my proposed order and estimated pstem height of the plants. At the northern most starting point there is a huge orange tree of about 20' in height to block the north wind. The plants will have full exposure to the sun from the east from the morning and from the west once they clear the fence.

Pisang Klotek 12'-15'
Praying Hands 12 - 15'
Blue Java 12'-15'
Dwarf Brazilian 8'-10'
Dwarf Namwa 8'-10'
Patupi 6' - 8'
Raja Puri 6'-8'

Is the above a reasonable planting order and estimated pstem fruiting heights? Maybe leaf position and or growing speed should be considered but I'm not familiar with any of these plants. Also please note that I am obtaining 14'-16' pstem height on the 3rd generation of my tall namwas as an indication of growing conditions.

Thanks for your consideration!

It sounds reasonable but I have a hunch the growth rates will vary soo much that you never get them to line up properly! But I wish you luck.....

Haha.

According to my wife the secret is to circle around the banana plants often enough that they think you are dancing with them. Really pumps up the morale in the ole banana patch.

Praying Hands has the potential to be largest, its basically the same as Saba and can be a monster, its not unusual to have them get 20ft or more. Mysore/Pisang klotek can also get rather tall in time, but still smaller than Praying Hands.

I've read that the Praying Hands banana was a dwarf form of the Saba. Is this incorrect?

100% incorrect! Praying Hands is in the Saba subgroup and get HUGE! It’s nothing for them to get 16’-17’ for me. For sure nothing dwarf about them! They have the same huge thick pstems and massive corms as Saba! Without seeing the fruit they look exactly like a Saba to me.

Thanks for the comments!

So the order of height is as follows:

Praying Hands
Pisang Klotek
Blue Java
Etc., etc.

Between PH, PK, and BJ does one grow particularly faster than the others? Like one plant could be at 8' of pstem and another could be at 4'. Not really worried about less than a 2' height difference. All other things being equal of course.

Thanks!
