Talking My DC has a pup!

This dwarf Cavendish was the third plant I ever tried to grow and it's finally working! I was watering and checking plants this afternoon and saw something green by my banana plant. It is definitely a DC banana pup and it's the first time I've ever had a banana that made one! I'm going to put some chicken wire over the top so nothing can break it off. Here are some photos!
The pup is on the left middle side of the first photo:

And here's a close up photo of the pup!

This is like total excite! The pot is sort of small, though. How big should the pup be before I try putting the whole plant in a bigger pot?

I'd wait for the pup to form enough structure where you're sure it wont get damaged accidentally in transfer.

Congrats!

Awesome! Congrats! Looks nice and healthy! Let's hope it stays on there....sometimes they get fryed by the sun and/or reabsorbed by mama if she needs more energy when they're that small. Don't feel too bummed out if that does happen, I'm sure if you got one to come out, there are no doubt others on their way!

Congrat's on the pup. I wouldn't separate the pup till its 16-24". Repot as its convenient, the pup will grow back eventually or it will pup some more, DC's are usually never short on pups over time. :^)

Congrads Cory..

I've made the mistake by sometimes moving dirt around the pup thinking it would grow up faster. Best to just completely leave it alone. Don't change anything either. Whatever you're doing is perfect
In the past, and right now in fact, I have taken a broken leaf and covered the pup....kinda like a protection from the sun:

Here's some photos of the pup now. It's much larger and the leaf has opened up! I thought the new leaf [on the main plant] might slow down because of the pup but it didn't. It's growing fast too!
The first photos I took [when I discovered the pup] were July 18th. I took these photos this morning [July 24th]:
