Default My banana plant list

Been a long time since I have posted. Tons of work, both at home and on the road, so I haven't been as involved in the garden as most times. Did a detailed check on the garden today and my list is a lot larger than I realized. Just cut down a 60 pound stalk if Ice Cream bananas. That brings this calendar year to over 450 pounds of bananas. Just traded a Gros Michael pup for a Saba pup. This is my current list. Any variety that has an * next to it has produced bananas. They are in no particular order.

Dwarf Cavendish*
"blue Java" Ice cream*
Orinoco*
Dwarf Nam Wah*
Hua Moa
Dwarf Maoli*
Gros Michael
Truly Tiny
Dwarf Ice Cream*
Pisang Raja*
Pisang Ceylon
Saba
Dwarf Bazillion*
Mona Lisa*
Sweetheart*
Dwarf Red
Kandarian
Pisang Kluie< spelling??

Having tons of fun except for a recent Micro Burst in our backyard that pulled up or flattened 5 plants. I disperse pups around just in case so I still have the pups of the plants that were killed. The tough one was my Gros Michael it was getting very close to producing. I still have three good sized pups so it is just a waiting game.

Sounds like a very nice collection. I’m assuming “Dwarf Ice Cream” turned out to be Dwarf Namwa?

Well all I can tell you is that I bought it from a nursery that said it was from a hybridizer in California and was a Dwarf Ice cream. I have a dwarf Nam Wah and the two are not the same, but fairly close. Terrifically sweet flavor bordering on sickeningly sweet. The Nam wah has had bananas and they are not nearly as sweet. That's all I know, also the shape of the Ice Cream is bigger in diameter and more rounded. Whatever it is I call it a winner.

It was very odd. I was not home at the time. We were having freaky weather with Marine warnings all day. One minute it would get nasty then patches of blue sky and calm. When I came home I never even went in the backyard. When I finally did an area of about 10 x 10 feet square was hit. It ripped a pool screen that bordered one side. Never touched anything before or beyond. Ten feet away I have Orinocos and they were fine. It took an umbrella that was in a stand pulled it out of the stand (we have weights on it) ripped it up and threw it over our gazebo. I had a small extension ladder holding up my Mona Lisa stalk. The Mona Lisa was blown over and the ladder was 25 feet away in my neighbors yard. I also found a plastic lawn chair in my sugar cane at about 6 feet high from my neighbors yard. I didn't even see that for two days. Very weird. My son was home at the time and he never knew it happened.

People come to sites like this to share, NOT TO BE RIDDICULED! I am so sick of this crap. You make it bad for people to be able to enjoy being a part of a web page. YOU have ruined it for me. You are not a person who needed to add to this in any way what so ever. Why people need to look at something then come up with crap boggles my mind. I had to go through this EXACT same junk months ago by another idiot who has to see pictures of everything. Are you that base and infantile that you need pictures with everything? Are you thee type of person who enjoys ruining someone's day? Do you get a kick out of being an internet troll? What the hell is wrong with you? I will leave this site BECAUSE OF YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU! IDIOT!

you need to read a little closer.

it was because I wanted to see a picture. it would also describe most of the people here.

you have to wonder is this person going to go thru screaming convulsions and calling people names every time somebody wants to see a picture.

A SNOW BUNNY TEASER

I sit with m coffee in the early mornings light
and I look at the bananas I have planted in sight
the leaves they all shimmer from an early morning rain
and I think...…. its almost Christmas...…. again
