Calling for highs in the low 70's today's. Plant will be catching some real sun finally. Unfortunately still another month+ before I plant. Frost this weekend.

Here too cause its so wet most can't get it to do any work.. well unless people like playing in mudd puddles still.. lol :^) I have my lawn mowers out in the yard (pig&chickens) supervised by watchful eyes (the dogs). Anoter 3 weeks of this weather it will be nice to see everything growing.. (not just the nectarines, almonds, peaches, and cherry) :^)

so i just did a perimiter around the house. On the south wall, about a foot away from the foundation is thawed... Same with the south wall of my garage. Most of the snow is gone too. The weather has been warm, its official, the warmest winter in canada EVER. Also 60% less snowfall, and 30% more rain.
THe daytime temps are around april temps, and the night temps are mayish.... IF they hold up, in a week r 2 my fargesia should spring back to life, and I can start to dig up last years dead stuff, and start my compost heap. Also, my pampas grass sprouted ( indoors) and so did my strawberries |

We are way behind--trees that would normally bloom in mid Feb are just now starting to bloom. Two years ago my citrus trees bloomed in Feb--they are not even thinking of blooming yet. My winter garden crop has really just started growing--they just sat there most of the winter (cabbage, broccoli, onions, turnips, spinach, lettuce). I have had tomato seedlings in starter pots since Jan--they are still only an inch tall. Our soil is sandy enough to plant now, but I have to wait to get the winter crop out. |

We hit 73 F or so today (maybe higher...that's just the number I saw mid-afternoon). I also saw two robins out my window yesterday (the first ones I've seen so far!). Everything is still dormant right now...except small daphodil shoots that are above the ground....but looks like spring isn't too far off!
Then again, this is the midwest LOL....it'll probably snow 8" in a week and decide to stay cold for another month ![]()

We have had highs around 80 and lows near 60 for the last few days. The buds on the trees are starting to open and everything is starting to green up. I have a couple pups that pushed up a couple weeks ago and now every banana is pushing new growth. Our ten day forecast looks close to average so I am keeping my fingers crossed! Dave |

Well the frost warning expired no frost last night thats great. I was out there in the dark this morning before I went to work uncovering my bananas in the ground so they could get some sun today. People might think I lost it. Im excited about the upcoming growing season this is my first year of growing bananas. Were getting 70's next week

He does have some nice plants... I've been putting mine out since the sun is so bright & warm. The wind is the only reason it isn't over 70 today. I know the banana's are growing so I can chill, and actually enjoy this mild weather.. Next thing you know we'll be sweating our duff's off.. :^)

With all the heat lately, I've forgot how summer feels... 81 in my room here at 1AM. (attic is hot, keeping the house warm) Guess opening the windows would help, but then again I've been waiting for the heat for so long it feels nice
