Any update Darla? How did the fruit taste? Has it fruited again?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill they were great, one of my best producers. DGM Highgate has fruited at least 4 more times. Last November I moved from Texas to Tennessee. Hated leaving my gardens behind. I did however bring 11 of my hardiest varieties and yes Highgate was 1 if them. They just went in the ground after almost 6mo. In the garage.
Hoping to recreate a little of what I had , time will tell.
Highgate is a must to grow!
Happy growing,
Darla

Thanks,
Bill

7-8 feet tall sounds nice. Did the plant need propping to not fall over? What size was the fruit? About how many fruit did it produce? How did the fruit taste compared to normal Gros Michel?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm excited to learn about this variety.

Thanks,
Bill

Didn't need propping, variety once established were strong and upright. The fruit was maybe 5 to 6 inches long. Taste was in opinion sweeter than GM,ore creamier if they're is such a thing. I like it so much it's the only one I brought 2 pups to Tennessee.

Happy growing

Has anyone got the tissue culture grown Highgate to fruit? I just realized that it might be a different strain of Gros Michel. With how often names get mixed up it might be shorter or higher.

Thanks,
Bill
