Default Help Sick banana tree browning and black

My banana tree got spider mites and they unfortunately got pretty bad before I figured out what they were and treated them. I cleared up the mites and trimmed back it's leaves so he just had the new one what was growing left. I thought it was getting better and the new leaf sprouting kept growing so I thought all was well. I went on vacation for a little over a week and came home to this. It has black on it and in some areas it almost looks like the black is on top if the plant mold or sap like but doesn't scrape off easily and I don't want to cause more damage so I am not sure what to do. While I was gone he also started sprouting a new leaf that is still growing despite everything. help please. Just so folks know I treated my tree with green light lawn & garden spray with spinosad. I'd appreciate any help I can get on this one.

sorry the pics are sideways!

The treatment might have done that,or your watering too much.

Maybe its just been messed with too much. I had a nanner get over heated and it took months for it to ever start to show life again. Just let it be and see what happens.

Feed it well and get it thru the shock.. that's why the leaf turned brown I'd say :^)

Some banana species are really difficult to grow indoors because they are especially attractive to spider mites. If you can take it outdoors, that would really help it out, but when it's indoors its best to just try and keep it as happy as possible and as long as it's alive, it usually come back with no problem in warmer weather.
Good luck with it! I havent lost any banana plants from spider mites yet, but aphids have been a huge problem and I've lost plenty of bananas from those!

what is good to feed banana plants? this is our first one so we are learning as we go.

also what concerns me more than the browning is the black that is forming all over him. it went about a week and a half while we were here and he had yellowed and browned some from the spidermite treatment but seemed to be perking up. we left for a week and came back and he was more sad then with mites and black stuff all over him
