![]() You guys are just so nice and supportive - it really is helping me feel better.
![]() I have now spoken with the owner of the next building and he has no problem believing that the new problematic tenants that just recently moved into his building are somehow responsible. When I told him how my red geranium was left back in the parking lot the very next night, he totally agreed that this proves they are real close! He apologized to me up and down, but I assured him it was no fault of his and that I did not blame him at all. He just felt bad, I could tell - especially when I mentioned the fish. I don't think the geranium was so much 'returned', ShearMe, as it was 'chucked' - discarded. Red geraniums are as common as anything and compared to the other three beauties it really slimmed in comparison! As far as a motion light, my plants were under a spotlight practically, but the person who took them was very familiar because it was done with such confidence and know-how, that it floored me. Anyway, even though my indoor banana plant had a fall off of a stool by accident and lost some leaves, I put it outside this morning. Of course it will come in at night so it isn't stolen. Here it is... ![]() : ) ![]() Oh yeah... Sorry about the mushy stuff, Bob - but how else am I supposed to be towards the swell guy who is sending me a "Siam Ruby" banana pup?!!!!! : O I am afraid you might have to put up with some more mushy stuff yet when I receive it and it starts growing!!! I might even have to write a love poem! ![]() No, but seriously, the friendship and the sympathy mean so much to me, and I sure appreciate it very much. Thanks for helping me get through such a real tough misfortune. The truth is I miss my plants and I know they are already on the decline. I just know thieves like that would never care for them like me, so thanks Taylor. I am just sad that they are gone and I want them back. I have seeds to replace every one of them, but that's not the point. They are mine, and even though they are not with me, they will always be mine. I am the rightful owner - and they know it. Although it is nothing like it was, here is how the back step looks now: At least it's not bare... ![]() My Bay Laurel plant and my Fire Cracker hot pepper seedlings all around it. They are the type of chili plant that will trail down the pot... ![]() My 2 Explosive Blast hot peppers, with my "Little Blue Pot' hot pepper in the middle... ![]() The red geranium with 'string of pearl' cuttings that was left in the parking lot the night after stealing it... ![]() : O |

![]() HBL..............glad to see you and your remaining plants are well and seeing the light of day. The theives will undoubtedly suffer bad Karma for a long while for this and they deserve it for their thievery and hurting your feelings.
Please no poems unless it's something like .....glad you are here, so I'm buying you a beer ![]() T-Girl, a hand truck is the best investment any gardener could buy. I believe everyone here growing in pots should have them. Zac, the seedling is growing fairly quickly, the seed havent sprouted anything on top but the ones visible at the top of soil(since you sent me a plantation full!) have started splitting so I have to assume there are roots below and stems will emerge shortly. Let me know if it doesn't revert. I may have another small one ready soon. B Last edited by Bob : 08-24-2009 at 04:03 PM. Reason: sp |

![]() Nonsense, Bob! Even without the darker leaves the plant is gorgeous and I couldn't accept another for this one's fault.
I picked up your plant today, HBL, but the nursery I bought it at is notorious for mislabeling. The label says "Fatsia" but the only plant on Google with that name is Fatsia japonica. I does look similar to my Ice Cream, so at least we know its a Musa! ![]() |

![]() Wait just a minute, Zac! Did you say musa?!!! You mean you are sending me a banana plant?!!!
: O How did I get so lucky to be getting these beautiful plants from such nice people? Wow! ![]() Thank you so much ShearMe. Every time I start feeling sad and getting teary I just think of you guys and all your support. Plus it's difficult not to feel excitement about these new pups I will be receiving. How wonderful. I cannot tell you how much you have warmed my heart, instead of the bitter cold feeling that might have taken over. This is so great that things are turning around. Thank you all. No, no, Bob, I won't write a love poem - not to worry! It was a funny thought though. Roses are red, violets are blue... Anyway, I saw a couple of tenant's staring admiringly at the new basjoo that's outside now. They were probably thinking that I didn't have another one! I always have plan B. I am referring to good tanants, not the thieves. Anyway, so nice to see it outside really. It is loving it's new sunny spot. It was in full sun indoors too. Now it's getting sun from 7am - 8pm!!! It should be gorgeous again very soon... : ) |

![]() Holly, it's too expensive for me to send packages to Canada, and I'm not sure whether it wouldn't freeze on the way there, you know, it's August, the first frosts in many parts of Canada.
![]() But I could send you some tomato seeds if you grow them. ![]() Just teasing. ![]() ![]()

![]() The 'Alma' variety of paprika - which is one of the peppers used to make the paprika spice, is extremely ornamental and pretty.
The fruits are yellowish and they turn orangey and then finally red. I can send ya some of them in the Fall, Bob, among others, when I harvest more seeds from the fruits... : ) P.S. ShearME, I can snap a shot of your musa and people on IBS can identify it for me!!! |

![]() That's what we generally refer to the dried powderd product as here. I always wondered what variety of pepper(s) they were though. We don't have seed I know of here.

![]() Not sure what kind of pepper they are - but they are classified hot, and you can dry the Alma type and make your own paprika powder!

![]() I thought so too till I entered the hot wing challenge........always been fairly immune. 3,000,000 scovil units of heat will change your mind, a habanero is "only" 30,000. .........the wings kept me up 20 hours straight..........no more on this topic though

![]() Wasn't I once razzed for thread derailing? What is the title of this thread anyway?!!!
Back to my old self again, as you can see. ![]() But remember... ![]() Smoke in your own time - not in my thread! Thank you. : ) P.S. Ex smokers like myself are the worst. Alright thread derailers - back to the topic at hand... Uh...what exactly is the topic at hand? |
