Default Fruit size/development

My fruit seems to stall on its size after a couple weeks from bloom. They are filling out but seem to get no bigger half the size they should be from what I have seen in tropical areas My zone is not ideal I never get fruit to ripen but this year is different. Have three hanging now one almost two months old. I feel like I have a chance. Guess my question is will they get any bigger and ripen?

Default Re: Fruit size/development

There a are several factors. You are not in Panama. So, you don't have the climatic conditions to drive tropical sized fruit. Fruit size is also affected by cultural conditions: watering, fertilizer, temperature, etc. Flowering after winter often means smaller fruit because of the loss of energy over the winter. Late summer, fall flowering often produces larger fruit. Sudden loss of roots (overwatering, pup removal, etc.) just prior to blooming can shock the plant and cause smaller fruit. At this point, flowering has occurred and it is what it is.
