Default Early frost

Last night the weather channel predicted our first frost of the winter, something like 20 days earlier than the average first frost date. So me, in my worry, bundled up 9 varieties of bananas yesterday that I didn't want to test the first year around! Since the bamboo wall surrounding them is still young, I think it's impossible to be too protective over them for their first winter in the real world. To my surprise this morning, there was hardly any frost, and I don't think there was any leaf burn to even the unprotected plants.

Sounds like you had a fire drill. You are right. You can't be too careful with your plants. Last week I brought all my plants in and it froze the next morning and almost every morning since then. Sounds like you are ready for when the frost does come. Good luck with your plants.

Same happened here. I'm north west of you on the TX/LA border. Weather was forcasted for 32. Low was 35. No damage at all on my unprotected ones. Can't complain here. Hope I get a few more weeks. It's still a little early for our "average 1st frost" here.

Good luck neighbor.
