![]() I’m currently trying o grow banana and papaya seedlings from seeds. So far very low germination rate but I knew that before I started this. So far I have 4 tiny banana seedlings and 3 papaya seedlings. I live in zone 8 so will put them in my greenhouse when it gets cooler here in Texas, USA.

![]() Good luck with your seedlings, I've tried with very little success and just buy pups now, but it is very exciting to see them emerge!

![]() Bananas that you eat generally do not have seeds. The seeded species and cultivars are mostly ornamentals as the seeds are very hard and will break your teeth. The scarcity of seeds in edible bananas is one of the reasons it is difficult to cross banana cultivars to make new cultivars.

![]() Enetes are great for start considering all banana genus. If you germinate Musa sp. I definitely recommend a hardier sp. like Sikkimensis or Helen's hybrid.
