Steve no damage here so the winds may not have been down to windsor (the Queen doesn't allow it as it shreds her Basjoos )
The weather in Menorca was mixed........One week hot and dry the second overcast and wet. Glad to be home.............I missed my bananas.

Randy-
Very nice. Awesome. I had to look again to see where you live, because i thought at first it had to be Florida! What kind of Papaya do you have there in the pot? How has your vegetation handled all the TN heat (i know TN has been in the "hot spot" this summer)??? |

Frank,
Thanks for the comments!!! The papaya was given to me from a good friend of mine that lives here and lurks on this board. Not sure of the variety... As far as the vegetation, the tropicals are all doing great, native not so great, but I tend to water the tropicals and not the natives... Can't water them all... Thanks again for the kind words... Hi Taylor. The darker green banana plant the cat is licking a dwarf cavendish, everything else is just Musa Basjoo. Cornelius is a weird cat, he likes to lie in puddles and is quite interested in water in general. I like him because he follows me around when I am watering. I missed probably the best photo op of year when a flock of turkeys ( 7 or so ) walked right in front of my bananas and bringing up the rear of the procession was Cornelius, walking right behind them.

Have no idea what kind of papaya that is. I just bought it at Wal Mart and planted the seeds. To my suprise they came up. Hope it turns out to be a good one. Went by Randy's the other day and his yard looks fantastic. Mine on the other hand, don't look so good. Haven't been watering too much, and it's just about fried to a crisp. I have a few things that look pretty good. Hope i can post some pics soon.

tangy,
I normally water once a day when I am off work...When I work, it is for 12 hours but only about 2-3 days in a row... I don't get the chance to water on those days... Now that it is starting to cool a bit, I am hoping to cut back to every other day... The ee's underneath usually let me know when to water, if you know what I mean... Randy |
