Anyone growing FHIA-03 Sweetheart?
I bought a pup after reading from another user on here that it's very cold tolerant.
Anyone here growing this variety? What is your experience with this banana? Here is the official brochure from FHIA The pup I received is pretty small but it had a decent corm the size of a golf ball. Giving it some shade for now to recover.

Re: Anyone growing FHIA-03 Sweetheart?
Just planted my first one last month; only about 3 feet tall right now. I sure like my FHIA-01 & 02's so I thought I'd give the 03 a try. Will watch and see...

Re: Anyone growing FHIA-03 Sweetheart?
I got one small bunch and took the plant out. The fruit were very, very mushy even when just turned yellow. Flavor wasn't really good either. Maybe it was just conditions. But apparently some people love them and some hate them!

Re: Anyone growing FHIA-03 Sweetheart?
Bunches can be very large.
Propping is advised. Even with large diameter trunk, as you can see from the pix above, it is still quite flexible.

Re: Anyone growing FHIA-03 Sweetheart?
I have a mat going on 18 months. The original pseudo stem is particularly stout at 11”. Looks to flower by early summer. It has been a strong grower. No fruit yet.
