Mine came from Martin Gibbons. I get it through the winter in a frost free polytunnel :-) Although the plants 'mother' was living outside quite happily in South West London. Mind you there is a significant 'heat island' effect equal to perhaps 1/2 a zone also not sure how it got on last winter.

regards
Kev

Hi,

Musa sp. Yangste is difficult to get, so that I recommend you to buy Musa basjoo and also Musa sikkimensis, they are also hardy for your area with winter protection! Also in Germany there are many basjoos outdoors in gardens. But also in Brazil in Angatuba in the nursery of my friend Helton and in Lucianópolis where I have my second residence there are basjoos, also see also Família das musaceae and Bananas Raras In the U.S. there also are pups from Musa basjoo and sikkimensis available.

Best wishes
Basjoofriend

Mekong seems to be good, you might try it. I'm still getting it big enough untill I dare to try it. They're readily available in the US.

Kind regards,
Remko.
