Since many northerners like me will almost never have fruit or flowers ....a great inexpensive 16-16-16 fertilizer will work.

regarding the sitting of the plant i am worried that the corm is too high...
it is slightly exposed where the lowest leaves have been peeled back the mulch is not applied yet... it snowed a bit last night i have some fabric pots full of soil placed around the stem for now to insulate need to get mulching soon.... |

Create the largest well amended hole possible for your new plant.
I use a small rototiller to quickly open up the planting hole. Adding amendments and mixing the soil evenly is made much less labor intensive. Fall is a good time to prepare a bed for the following year. The plants roots will soon fill its new home. If your plant is kept in a container like many of my plants use the best soilless mix you can afford or make. Last edited by cincinnana : 11-09-2020 at 05:45 AM. |

Basjoo are smaller this year to start.....
And they are outpacing plants that were kept indoors for 7 months. The indoor plants which have been outside have not put on a new outside leaf yet. ![]() Last edited by cincinnana : 05-08-2021 at 08:05 PM. |
