![]() We got these bananas about 1 1/2 years ago. Someone was thinning out their bananas and posted on Facebook for free.
They seem to be growing pretty good. The growth this spring is from about 2 1/2 ft off the ground. I chopped them to that height and insulated them with straw and then tarped them up for the winter. ![]() Last edited by 737mech : 09-04-2017 at 11:47 AM. |

![]() They look good, but they are not Musa basjoo. They appear to be the edible cultivar 'Orinoco' which is very common and a hardy plant.

It was round 100 degrees the day I took that pic. We are supposed to get rain most of the week. The temps will be cooler too. That should help them look happier. The wind here unfortunately tears them up really bad. |
