de nada!
Your English seems to be useful, though!

@ Ron - recepcion was supposed to translate from "Welcome!"
I think it should have read "bienvenidos!"

Estos plataneras son:

1. Dwarf Cavendish
2. Ensete ventricosum
3. Musa Balbisiana (quizá?)

graciasss

Hola! While I agree #2 looks like Ventricosum, I didn't realize it pupped like that... is that normal?

I would be absolutely offensive I'm sure if I even tried to speak (write) in Spanish here, so I won't even go there! (probably just emabarassed myself there!)

Welcome Carlo!

Hello Joe,

Ensete ventricosum usually pups when the main stem is damaged. This happens during winter and in spring pups star growing from the base of the old stem.

Hola Carlo,

In fact because bananas are not a common plant to be found in garden centers in Spain (except for a few produced as Houseplant in Holland), each area have a few "varieties" adapted to its climate, specially along the coast.

These plants are usually given as a gift from a neighbor and they have some degree of cold-hardiness. Only a few reach the garden centers

Until know all the plants I tried (from 3 different origins) have not survived in my garden ( I am in zone 9a), but I also loosed several of the cold-hard varieties (Rajapuri, Dwarf Orinoco, Goldfinger ..)

I hope you will have a better chance

Barna, when I was in Barcelona last year I swear I could see a banana-clump with fruit. I am having a hard time believing Barcelona is too cold for bananas?? Also, I was in Algarve, Portugal a few weeks ago. There, I could see plants with banana-bunches.

What time of the year do you start getting trouble?

Erlend
