Default Hi from just north of Sydney Australia

Since being a (silent) member of this forum for 17 odd years, thought It's about time I pen my first post. The main reason is the frustratingly hard time I've experienced trying to track down one particular cultivar, namely the so called famous Gros michele.
All the banana varieties I have, grow very well here. There's a two or so month slowdown over winter, but get going soon after. I am about 200k's south of what was the main banana growing area in the state..

I have a 1 hectare lot about an hours drive north of Sydney, near the coast, NSW, Australia. Climate is warm and above the frost line. Bananas are my favorite, but not exclusive. Growing many and varied tropical fruit trees from around the world. Have a large poly tunnel to extend the climate further into the sub-tropics. We have reasonably wet winters and hot dry summers. I have a large dam which has been excavated larger three times in as many years in an attempt to keep the water supply pumping. So far so good, I nearly empty it every year by electric water pump.

Below is a list of live banana plants under my care. All in the ground. Starting with a few ornamentals. Always up for a swap or give away if I have it.

M. Velutina
M. Ornata
M. zebrina
M. sikkimensis
M. basjoo - very slow to pup.
red dacca
Williams - AKA giant cav?
Blue Java
Dwarf Cav
super dwarf cav
Choui cau- Maybe same as Señorita
sugar banana
M. Pisang ceylon
Gold finger
M. rajapuri
Dwarf Chinese plantain.
Also recently acquired four varieties that apparently originated from Tonga. One being a popoulu- orange creamy flesh.
The guy had no idea of the names(lives within 10km from me). Wouldn’t be surprised if one of them is a Gros michele.

I'll let you know when I've tasted gros michele, lol.
Otherwise, the dwarf Chinese plantain once fully ripe is excellent.
I was disappointed with the Blue Java until I found out it was something entirely different. You might have mentioned from the pic that it could be a Bluggoe? Sorry, not keen on that one at all, it's all coming out.
BSB won't admit to the mix up but I now have a genuine BJ and waiting for it to mature.
