What are the black blotches on my dwarf red stem. Is this common? I applied Neem oil, water and soap on it thinking it is fungus? Picture below: Banana Gallery - Dwarf red Thanks Viji |

Oh really? Does it look trimmed? I just got this plant few days back and didn’t trim myself. The seller removed couple layers of outer stem. That is all. Thanks for confirming that plant looks fine.

![]() However sellers will trim off unsightly leaves to make the plant look more appealing........which is common. Your plant looks healthy and your going to love the way it fills a space with those thick leaves. Good luck with that beauty. .Normal habit. ![]() Dwarf Red by Hostafarian, on Flickr .Growth habit ![]() Splitting Dwarf Red pups by Hostafarian, on Flickr |

Thanks a lot for the positive note. Appreciate it for sharing your banana pictures as well. I love my plants and hoping they thrive :-). Looks like i need to watch out for the red in particular in winter.
