Default black spots on stem

Hello, this is my first post! I just acquired a couple small banana suckers, a musa basjoo and a musa dwarf cavendish. The cavendish has these black spots appearing on the stem, especially large spots at the base. I found a few threads saying these spots are normal, possibly fungus, and one thread in particular about plants from the same nursery I got these from that might have a bacterial infection. For whatever reason I couldn't see images in these posts though so I thought I'd post pictures to be sure.

Overall it looks fine though, the spots at the base aren't soft, and the newest leaf took maybe a week to come out after unboxing it.

I appreciate any help, thank you!

Many different varieties of banana plants have color on the pstem including brown and black. So the black may be normal or it could be a fungus spot. As the plant grows the outer leaf sheaf may die and turn brown to black. ... It would hurt to mist the plant with a fungicide or copper sulfate. ... I add copper sulfate & an insecticide to my foliar fertilizer mix when spraying

I have this stuff, it's not copper sulfate specifically though. I'll dig out the label and try to make the proper solution.

Thanks, for the replies! I have a farm of palm tree seedlings that I don't want to catch anything, so I'm hoping I don't need to ditch the banana. It's already shooting out another leaf, so hopefully it is ok.
