Default Re: What do I do with my 4 pups on my new Gran Nain Chiquita dwarf banana ?

Hello,

Not sure what zone you are in, but I live in N Ga and I start bringing mine in around the 1-3rd week of November. Not an expert, but splitting more than two outside of the growing season could possibly cause corm/rotting issues. My GN last year had three pups and I split one for a backup put it in The greenhouse while the mother plant and the other two pups stayed together in a 5g bucket In The garage.it all survived through winter with almost zero water until March. I set them out in April and they grew pretty good. Not great, but they survived. I try to do most of my splitting pre planting in the spring to help speed growth and keep them cleaned off until they fruit. It’s works good with dwarf Brazilian and dwarf Namwa which have had fruit hanging since august.
